Spreadsheets and Queries navigation suggestions

Description

Hi,

Here are a few small UI improvement suggestions around Spreadsheet and Query management (per space):

The first problem is that if I click on a spreadsheet or query, there is no navigation link back to the overall 'Spreadsheets and queries' page (above):

Secondly, if I do click 'Create query' or 'Create spreadsheet', there is no 'Cancel' button, or any way to abandon my half-written query/spreadsheet:

This leads to collections of 'Untitled Queries'.

Added breadcrumbs in all space-related actions: Index, database information, monitoring page, editors.

Hi Adrien,

Yes, breadcumbs and a Cancel button would do it. Certainly not urgent, just nice-to-have.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

That's correct, when I designed those two pages I assumed that Atlassian would deprecate the Documentation theme, (as explained in their Advance warning notice). Of course in the default theme introduced in Confluence 5.0, there is the "Tables" link in the left sidebar.

I like that you state the problem in this ticket, without assuming an implementation. I understand those two items would solve it:

  • A cancel button when creating new Queries and Spreadsheet,

  • Proper breadcrumbs, so one can come back to the table index after viewing a page.

Is it correct? I'm not ranking this as urgent but it's easy enough that I can probably squeeze it in the next release.

Best regards,
Adrien
